1. Atlanta is the #1 place to move, according to data from Penske Truck Rental. This was the third year in a row that this city took the top spot in the ranking. According to the report, “a diverse city with many cultural attractions, residents enjoy the perks of big cities like New York and Chicago without the sub-freezing temperatures. Atlanta is home to the world’s largest aquarium, numerous critically acclaimed restaurants and a thriving cultural scene. For a city as in demand as Atlanta, homes are affordable, with a median home sale price of $200,100.”
2. Atlanta is #30 (out of 32) in a ranking of cities by major professional sports championships. “The Donovan Index” ranks the Capital of the South, which last capped off a postseason with a win in the 1995 World Series, only ahead of Buffalo and San Diego.
3. Atlanta is also ranked as having the #1 airport for making a connecting flight, amenities, dining and providing the best services for business travelers.
The lesson here: Moving and airports can be frustrating and sports are entertaining, but in the ATL we flip-flop that equation. You can doubt our sports teams all you want, but don’t doubt the city’s moves. Remember: Atlanta is also the headquarters for Hip Hop and UPS.
