STATS OF THE WEEK: How Does Atlanta Rank?

#1 Atlanta is tops in terms of worst newspaper readership. According to Ad Age, only 13% of adults read the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

#6 Atlanta ranks No. 6 for female entrepreneurs. Intuit’s research found that more than a third of businesses in Atlanta are owned by women.

#8 Atlanta is ranked as the No. 8 “Most Exciting City in America” by Movoto Real Estate. What is Movoto? That was exactly my reaction. Click here to see which city made No. 1 (Hint: it’s nowhere near what you’re thinking.)

#9 Atlanta is projected to be the No. 9 “most competitive” city in the country in 2025, according to a report covered in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Interestingly, its #33 global ranking in the report commissioned by Citi constitutes an improvement of 9 spots from 2012.

#10 Atlanta ranked in the top 10 for “wallet wellness,” according to an analysis of 30 metropolitan areas by CardHub.com. The ranking factored in rate of job growth, cost of living, transportation expenses and average commute time.
