Arnie’s eyes are surely smiling. Palmer’s Wake Forest golf program, one with four national titles and counting, is springing into championship form of late.
SIDE BY SIDE
The Deacs’ Michael Brennan and Rachel Kuehn each won the individual Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) golf championship, the first time a conference school has accomplished that feat since 2005.
BACK TO BACK
Brennan’s individual conference title was his second in a row and only the fifth time in ACC history that someone has gone back to back, with Wake Forest golfers accomplishing the feat three of those times.
BACK TO BACK GENERATIONS
Kuehn and her mother Brenda have both won individual conference titles for the Deacs, with daughter soon to join mom in another distinguished club: the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame.
SIDE BY SIDE, Part II
Wake golf alums Will Zalatoris and Cameron Young finished tied for 9th at the Masters. Young has posted two top 10s in three appearances at Augusta while Zalatoris has gone 3 for 3 in that category, including a runner-up finish in 2021.
BACK TO BACK, Part II?
Fresh off their second team conference title in three years and eighth overall, the Lady Deacs look to repeat as national champs next month.
GO DEACS!!!
